Strategic partner of the Institute of Chemical Technology
The Institute of Chemical Technology (VŠCHT) in Prague is the biggest educational institution of its type in Central and Eastern Europe. It leans on more than 170 years of tradition of teaching chemical technology in the Czech lands. Its tradition and vast specialist potential has predetermined it for educating students who go on to become top specialists. Several winners of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry have worked at the university as pedagogues and scientists.
Prague’s VŠCHT provides high-quality education in chemistry and chemical technology, food processing, biotechnology, environmental protection technologies, chemical and processing engineering and economics. At the same time, the Institute has been an eminent research and development centre both for basic and applied research, as well as cooperation with the industrial sphere over the long-term.
The Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague is a public institution, with self-government and academic elections determined by the law on universities and the VŠCHT statute. The majority of its funding comes from the state budget, the rest from domestic and foreign grants, and its economic activity on the basis of agreements with manufacturing and other types of organisations.
