2011 has been designated by UNESCO and the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) as the “International Year of Chemistry”. This project has the following key objectives:
- To increase the public appreciation of chemistry in meeting world needs.
- To encourage interest in chemistry among young people.
- To generate enthusiasm for the creative future of chemistry.
- To celebrate the contributions of women to science.
