Over the past five years, Benzina has been increased the number of its filling stations each year and the volume of the sold fuel. Not only thanks to the recent acquisition of 60 filling stations from OMV, which was carried out last and this year, Benzina has increased its market share from 15% in 2014 to 21.6% in 2018. Several other factors also contributed to the market share increase, such as modernization of the network, introduction of new EFECTA fuel and the emphasis on expanding the range of non-fuel products, including the Stop Cafe gastro concept.
According to a survey conducted by GfK, Benzina is the best-known and most popular brand of filling stations in the Czech Republic. Familiarity with this brand reaches 96%. Benzina’s success is also confirmed by its performance indicators. The company succeeded to increase the volume of fuel sold by 86% from 2012. The sale of non-fuel products grew by 61%. Benzina has reported a significant increase in the sale of refreshments by 294% since 2012. Since 2012, Benzina increased its gross operating profit by 196% to CZK 1.4 billion in 2017.
Benzina, alongside the ongoing modernization of its network and the expansion of its Stop Cafe refreshment concept, has even more news. "We introduced the new EFECTA fuel and expanded our oil assortment with the Platinum oils. We are now preparing to launch a mobile platform that will include, besides the loyalty programme, mobile payments for refuelling, purchase of products or the use of car washes," said Tomasz Wiatrak, Vice-Chairman of the Unipetrol Group’s Board of Directors, responsible for retail and corporate governance. "Soon we will present our customers a comprehensive fuel purchase solution for our corporate clients," he added.
