Local fire occurred at the POX unit at 5.30 a.m. today. The Unipetrol emergency fire service brought the fire under full control within 5 minutes and located it within 20 minutes.
The fire was probably caused by a leak to the gas pipeline. There has been no injury or damage to the environment during the local fire.
It is a local damage to the POX unit, especially pipeline, cabling, and insulation. The production units of hydrogen and ammonia are shut down for the time being. The operation of the refinery is limited partially. According to our first estimates, the POX unit will be inspected, repaired and put back into operation in the coming weeks. The fire caused no danger or damage to health or the environment.
