ORLEN Unipetrol, the largest refining and petrochemical group in Czechia, has received prestigious global recognition as one of the best employers in 2023. The international certificate, Top Employer, attests that the company has been developing and cultivating the labour market in the long term through excellent employee care and providing personal and career development. The ORLEN Unipetrol Group has long been among the top performers in similar local competitions and rankings. Last year, it was one of the three best employers in the category of up to 5,000 employees in Czechia. It ranked second in the Ústí Region.
“We are pleased about our success among the best employers in the global perspective. It is another acknowledgement for the entire ORLEN Unipetrol Group that we do the best for our employees. Furthermore, we are pleased that independent experts recognise our HR activities, which enrich the labour market,” says Tomasz Wiatrak, chairman of the Board of directors of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group. He adds: “We implement a comprehensive HR strategy seeking to improve the conditions for our existing employees, enhance their qualifications, and create optimum conditions for their career growth.”
The Top Employers Institute programme awards certificates to companies based on the participation and results of the survey identifying the best practices in human resources. The survey includes six areas comprising 20 topics: e.g., HR strategies, the working environment, talent acquisition, training, diversity, equality and integration, and good living conditions.
“Extraordinary times push people and organisations to the best and maximum. We could see it in this year’s certification programme, Top Employers: Extraordinary Performance of the Certified Top Employers 2023. These employers have shown that they care about their employees’ development and happiness. Thus, they jointly contribute to improving the situation in the labour market. Therefore, we are proud to announce this year’s group of awardees in the Employers 2023 category and celebrate this success with them,” says Top Employers Institute CEO David Plink.
The programme acknowledged the 2,052 best employers from 121 countries on five continents. The Top Employers Institute was founded more than 30 years ago. It is a global authority recognising outstanding results in human practice. The institute helps to accelerate these practices, thus enriching the labour market. With the Top Employers Institute’s certification programme, the participating companies can get validation, certification, and recognition as the best employer. The certified companies have a positive impact on the lives of more than 9.5 million employees worldwide.
It is not the first HR-related success for ORLEN Unipetrol. The Group has also been successful in various employer rankings in Czechia. It received two awards last year – a silver medal in the regional round of the Employer of the Year 2022 and third place in the national ranking in the category of employers with up to 5,000 employees. The Employers’ Club announces both awards regularly each year. In addition, the 20th annual independent ranking, Sodexo Employer of the Year, compared companies in the Czech Republic in terms of their approach to human resources and awarded companies with an excellent approach to their employees. Besides employee care, the acknowledged HR strategy of ORLEN Unipetrol also included its intensive support of the Czech school system and education.
