Safety and hydrogen campaigns, industrial photography, educational virtual reality, and a creative trade-fair stand. The ORLEN Unipetrol Group scores in five categories of the Czech Industry Challenge

24-05-2023

The prestigious nationwide Czech Industry Challenge, under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, awards industrial companies in multiple categories each year. For the fourth consecutive year, the ORLEN Unipetrol Group finished in the top positions in five categories of this challenge, which promotes the attractiveness of Czech industrial firms. The Group finished first in two categories: Creative OSH/FP and Creative Trade-fair Stand. It defended its second position in three categories when the jury comprising experts from the sector awarded it in the Industrial Photography, Corporate Website and Unusual Promotional Item categories. The expert jury also appreciated the hydrogen campaign for which the Group received an extraordinary accolade for 2022 for above-standard activities within the framework of creative industrial education which is exemplary and inspirational for other entities.

“We are very happy about winning at the Czech Industry Challenge and are particularly delighted to have finished so high up in so many categories. We are especially pleased that we have received an accolade for our creative work-safety campaign which we put great emphasis on in our operations. For the fourth time, we were also awarded for the industrial photography done at one of our production sites. Supporting the attractiveness of Czech industry through artistic photography is an excellent way to evoke interest in this field in today’s youth, and therefore we are also very glad about the repeat awards, and not only in this category,” says Michał Chmiel, human resources director of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group, commenting on the achievements.

The group won in the category Creative OSH/FP (occupational safety and health and fire protection) with its safety campaign that points out the most frequent workplace offences and their possible consequences. It was created in a lively form to bring the risks of forbidden activities as close to the employees as possible. The first-place award for Creative Trade-fair Stand was bestowed by the jury for an engaging adaptation of the presentation and visuals that were presented at a stand at the World’s No. 1 Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The second-place award for Unusual Promotional Item was received for glasses with extended/virtual reality through which users, especially students and newly hired employees, can take a peek at production and logistics technologies. The Group received a silver accolade for Industrial Photography for a photograph made by Bohuslav Rybín with post-production by Michal Černich, a creative specialist at ORLEN Unipetrol, depicting the Litvínov refinery’s cooling towers at night.

The expert jury bestowed an extraordinary accolade for above-standard activities within the framework of creative industrial education for the creation of a hydrogen campaign during which a public hydrogen filling station was opened this March in Prague-Barrandov and through which the ORLEN Unipetrol Group is strengthening its hydrogen presence in the Czech Republic.

Each year, companies from various industrial segments join the nationwide Czech Industry Challenge, which, apart from promoting their brands and evoking interest in the eyes of the youth, helps acquire new talent for the sector. The expert juries selecting the winners of the challenge are comprised of experts in the areas of photography, graphic design, HR, marketing communication, PR, psychology, IT, web design and animation.
