Prague, Monday 26, 2018 – As part of the annual charity collection Fulfilled Wishes supporting non-profit activities in the places where Unipetrol operates, employees of the refining and petrochemical Unipetrol Group raised funds, this year for the first time also for Centrum Mělník from the non-profit organisation Fokus Praha, z.ú. They managed to raise almost CZK 40,000. In total, this year’s fundraising campaign of the Group employees in five localities fetched CZK 367,000.
The symbolic cheque worth 39,720 korunas was received by the director of the Centrum Mělník and Dolní Povltaví unit that is part of the non-profit organisation Fokus Praha, z.ú. Václav Vopat: “We will use the donated money for a rehabilitation programme for our clients. Most of them have never been on any holiday, so we would like to give them this opportunity.“
“I am very glad that we have extended our traditional fund-raising campaign Fulfilled Wishes also to the vicinity of Spolana Neratovice which has become part of the Unipetrol Group only recently. The direct and concrete help near our plants works best. In addition to the financial support, we also plan a physical help during our Volunteer Day. We will help with spring cleaning and reconstruction of the Centre,“ Jacek Aliński, Spolana CEO, says.
The Unipetrol Group employee charity collection Fulfilled Wishes took place in 2011 for the first time. Unipetrol then doubles the raised funds. The funds collected so far amount to CZK 1,598,000. This year, the funds raised during the campaign reached 367,000 korunas and were distributed among five non-profit organisations. “Perennial stars we’ve been supporting are children’s homes in Most and Kralupy, as well as the Early-Care Centre in Pardubice. Last year, our cooperation was expanded to Centrum Kociánka in Brno. This year we contacted Centrum Mělník under Fokus Praha. By this, we help in the vicinity of all of our production plants,“ Jiří Hájek, Director of Unipetrol Group Corporate Communication, says.
Centrum Mělník and Dolní Povltaví fall under the non-profit organisation Fokus Praha which was established in 1990. Its mission is to support people who have experienced a mental disease. They offer a comprehensive community care in non-institutional conditions. In their centres they provide social and healthcare services in order to improve the quality of their clients’ everyday life. Further, the organisation emphasizes prevention activities and education of both experts and the general public. They also play an active role in the ongoing updating and implementation of the Strategy of Psychiatric Care Reform in the Czech Republic led by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.
