The sales of refinery products, mainly diesel fuel and gasoline, grew year-to-year by 10%. At the same time the volume of oil processed in the same period dropped by 7%, which means the use of processing capacities is down to 69%. Retail distribution saw improvement due to pre-stocking before the excise increase as of 1 st January 2010 and thanks to higher diesel sales. The debt to equity ratio in Unipetrol decreased year-to-year down to 4%.

"The operational profit is second best for the last two years, mostly thanks to significant improvement in the petrochemical segment. The result confirms that the industry in which we operate is gradually recovering and we are managing to improve our competitive leverage. Costs management must remain our priority, especially due to this year's planned shutdown in Chempark Záluží," says the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Unipetrol Piotr Chełmiński.

Benzina opened the first self-service fuel station on the Czech market. The Express 24 station can by found in Vysoké Mýto and is Benzina's 336 th station in the Czech Republic.
