Benzina and the Autoclub of the Czech Republic help the driving school pupils handle the filling station stop

10-10-2017

Prague, October 10, 2017 – Benzina, the Czech Republic’s largest filling station network and part of the Unipetrol Group, helps educate young drivers. In a joint pilot project with the Autoclub of the Czech Republic (ACR) they will cooperate with fifty driving schools all over the Czech Republic – the pupils will try practical skills, such as refueling and car washing in an automatic car wash. The project will gradually expand to two hundred driving schools.

Beginning drivers are always a little nervous - not only on the road but also at a filling station. Every one of us has been through this. That’s why we will offer the driving school pupils an opportunity to try all these activities at our filling stations so that they’re not stressed during their actual first visit,“ says Agnieszka Bobrukiewicz, head of Benzina’s marketing department.

We care about the largest possible amount of practical training of our future drivers. That’s why we are a partner of the project since we consider supporting the new drivers’ skills to be an important contribution to the road safety improvement,“ says Radek Procházka, ACR’s project manager.

The Czech Republic’s largest filling station network will support dozens of driving schools providing them with its stations so that the pupils can prepare for all the “pitfalls” waiting for them in such places. Each of the cooperating driving schools will receive three pre-loaded Tank Cards EASY for free refueling at the Benzina filling station network.

During their driving course, the pupils will also try to drive in a filling station, park their car near a fuel dispenser and refuel, inflate the tires, or add a solution in the windscreen washer. „We will tell the pupils how to win a fight with a fuel hose in case the car’s tank cap is placed on the other side, and teach them how to stop in a right distance from a dispenser. We will teach them how to choose the right fuel for a particular type of vehicle, what are the principles of safe and considerate behavior at the filling station, as well as different options of payment for the tanked fuel,“ says Lubomír Krátký, owner of the Prague driving school Autoškola Krátký, adding: „Our training will also include a car wash visit, since we know that many people are actually afraid of it. Especially beginning drivers often struggle with entering the car wash correctly or they forget to fold down the mirrors and take off the removable antenna.“

At the end of the course, every graduate will receive a gift in the form of a Tank Card EASY which entitles them to refuel at Benzina filling stations at a discounted price.
