Benzina upgrades its filling stations

13-11-2017

Praha, November 13, 2017 – Benzina, the Czech Republic’s largest filling station network belonging to the Unipetrol Group, upgrades its refreshment concept. It will rebuild its filling stations and extend its gastronomic offer with healthy food from fresh ingredients for all customer groups, including families with children or vegetarians. Benzina started the modernization in August. By the end of the year it will have 30 stations upgraded. Next year it plans to modify another seventy stations in such extent.

The modern design and equipment of refreshment sectors and a broad-based gastronomic offer which combines traditional and healthy dishes for everyone to choose - this is how Benzina sees the near future of its filling stations.
With four hundred stations, we are the largest fast food chain the Czech Republic. We’re continuing their modernization. We’re also expanding our successful Stop Cafe concept with a variety of healthy dishes which our customers are used to order in restaurants or specialized stores,“ said  Marek Zouvala, Head of Unipetrol Group’s Benzina, odštěpný závod (registered branch).
Popular fair-trade coffee and hotdogs continue to be the basic gastronomic item at Benzina filling stations. However, these will be supplemented by a wide variety of both traditional and modern dishes with an emphasis on healthy nutrition. In addition to main deals and salads, there will also be a breakfast menu. The dishes, including French fries, will be prepared in special ovens without any added fat.
So what can customers look forward to? In addition to traditional dishes they can order for instance popular burgers or tortillas. In case of vegetarian meals, meat will be replaced by well-liked falafel. Pasta, wraps and warm sandwiches will be prepared right in front of customers and baked on a contact grill or quick-frying oven. The offer will further include yogurts, vegetable and fruit salads, or freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices. Selected filling stations on highways will offer fresh meals cooked directly on customers’ orders.

We’re changing quite a lot of things indeed. Our surveys show what the drivers want. And it’s not just about changes in the menu. Exterior and interior of filling stations as well as restrooms will be upgraded too. Moreover we will add the possibility of outdoor sitting. High speed internet connection comes without question,“ said Filip Balcárek, shop and gastro director of Benzina.
Stations are currently undergoing modern re-designing focused on natural colours and materials. The first upgraded stations are on the highways - Devět křížů and Průhonice on D1 or Drahelčice and Kladruby on D5. More of the modernized stations are located in exposed areas on A-roads and in cities such as Litvínov, Teplice, Most, Chomutov, Ústí nad Labem, Litoměřice, Brno or Břeclav. Next year, Benzina plans to refurbish up to seventy stations. More of them will follow in the coming years.
