Prague, January 4, 2017 - UNIPETROL RPA, s.r.o., completed the integration of its subsidiary ČESKÁ RAFINÉRSKÁ, a.s., into its structures. Česká rafinérská ceased to exist on January 1, 2017 while a new organizational unit called UNIPETROL RPA, s.r.o. – RAFINÉRIE, odštěpný závod (registered branch) was established. Unipetrol RPA will continue to strive for maximum utilization of production capacities of the two domestic refineries in Litvínov and Kralupy nad Vltavou.
„Merging of Česká rafinérská with Unipetrol RPA will contribute to closer link between petrochemical and refining production while helping to increase the competitiveness of Unipetrol Group,” said Andrzej Modrzejewski, CEO of Unipetrol. „The integration will also help to simplify the organizational and administrative structure contributing to effective functioning of the company and ultimately also reducing some costs,” said Andrzej Modrzejewski.
On January 1, 2017, the current employees of production processes were automatically transferred into the newly created branch. Part of the administrative staff was moved to Unipetrol RPA. Anna Wydrzynska, the current administrative director of Česká rafinérská, took the position of a head of the Refinery Branch from January 1, 2017.
Česká rafinérská was founded in 1995 as the sole crude oil processor and the largest oil product manufacturer in the Czech Republic. It operated two refineries – in Litvínov and Kralupy nad Vltavou. The total production capacity of both refineries amounts to 8.7 million tons of oil per year. Since 2015, the company was 100% owned by Unipetrol. Česká rafinérská was employing roughly 600 people at the end of 2016. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
