On Friday, July 3, 2026, a scheduled emergency drill will take place at the Litvínov refinery from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The drill will simulate a leak of liquefied ammonia while a rail tank car is being loaded at the ammonia production plant. The drill will also include a simulation of rescuing an affected employee and stopping the leak of the hazardous substance. The goal is to test the effectiveness of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group’s internal emergency plan, the coordination of the company’s fire department, operational staff, and other involved units in responding to an emergency, and to verify the correctness of emergency procedures and the evacuation of people. During the drill, which will not extend beyond the boundaries of the production site, there will be a partial evacuation of people, and warning signals may be heard. There will also be a temporary restriction on traffic on Road I/27 running alongside the refinery in Litvínov.
