Economic results were negatively affected mostly by the current unfavorable situation of the external economic environment and the production outage due to the current planned production stop at Chempark Záluží. On the other hand, the results were positively influenced by the continuing reduction of fixed expenses, the decision of the European court on returning the fine for alleged cartel amounting to 236 million CZK and the sale of unused emission permits for 100 million CZK. "The results of the third quarter were significantly affected by the current production stop at Chempark Záluží. The investment expenses in relation to the stop exceeded 800 million CZK in the third quarter," said chief of finances and member of Unipetrol board Mariusz Kędra, and added: "The retail segment had the best results in the group this time. The demand for VERCA premium fuels reached record levels."

The Unipetrol group is still successful in fulfilling one of the priorities for this year in the form of reducing fixed expenses. In the third quarter it managed to reduce fixed inter-year expenses by over 140 million CZK, whereas the total goal for the whole year is approximately 200 million CZK.
