„I’m very happy that the number of participants of the Fulfilled Wishes fundraiser is growing every year. This time, 350 employees from all our facilities in Záluží, Kralupy nad Vltavou, Praha and Pardubice participated. We managed to collect a record-breaking amount,“ commented Marek Świtajewski, Unipetrol CEO and Chairman of the board.
 
Funds gathered as part of the Fulfilled Wishes fundraiser are sent to the accounts of the Children Home in Most, Children Home in Kralupy and the Early Care Center in Pardubice. Unipetrol has facilities at all three of these locations, and hence continues supporting the regions it operates in. Based on employee feedback, the Children Home in Most received over 158 thousand crowns which it will use to buy birthday presents, school supplies, clothing and shoes, soft furnishings, medical and hygienic needs, as well as furniture and sports equipment for young clients.

 

The Early Care Center in Pardubice received a donation of over 88 thousand crowns, which will be used to buy didactic tools for the development of the motoric, mental, social and communication abilities of young children aged seven or less.

 

The fundraiser also newly donated to the Children Home in Kralupy nad Vltavou, which received more than 79 thousand Czech Crowns. Children from Kralupy, moreover, got involved in creation of charitable Unipetrol New Year greetings card, therefore, the total amount reached more than 101,000 crowns. The funds will be used to organize a skiing trip and for other free-time activities.

 

The first Fulfilled Wishes fundraiser was organized in 2011 and ever since it became a tradition in the Unipetrol Group. In total, employees collected 413,055 crowns during the five fundraisers, and the proceeds were sent to nonprofit organizations in Prague and in the Ústí, Pardubice and Central Bohemian regions. Based on the long-standing agreement, Unipetrol itself contributes by the same amount as its employees. Hence the total funds collected during the last five years of the fundraiser amount to 826,110 Czech Crowns.
 
The Children Home in Most takes care of children which cannot grow up in their own family due to various reasons. The home has a capacity of 48 children, which are divided into six family groups each consisting of 6-8 children. This provides the children with conditions which resemble a normal family as much as possible.

 

The Children Home in Kralupy is a family-type children home with a capacity of up to 22 children aged between 1 and 26 years. Children usually end up in the home due to unsatisfactory care by their parents caused by a problematic socio-economic situation or alcoholism. The home also takes care of orphans and children which were taken from their families due to an abuse.

 

The Early Care Center in Pardubice cares for children with physical, mental or combined disabilities up to seven years. It also provides material and psychological support to their families.
