Unipetrol provides protective equipment for employees. It also helps public institutions.

27-03-2020

In the current health emergency, the Unipetrol Group maintains continuity of fuel production and production of other strategic commodities necessary for the functioning of the Czech Republic. We have adopted increased sanitary and safety measures to reduce the risk of the spread of the infection. The disinfecting fluid, single-use masks, protective masks and other necessary equipment are gradually distributed within the entire group. The disinfecting fluid is produced directly in the Unipetrol Centre of Research and Education (UniCRE) in Záluží u Litvínova. It is also distributed to the self-governing units and hospitals too. Benzina, Spolana Neratovice and Paramo help those in need, too.

As a priority, the disinfecting fluid and other protective equipment were distributed to the sites where there is the highest risk of transmission of the coronavirus infection, i.e. to the employees of the production units, logistics companies and Benzina filling stations. Thanks to the flexibility and extraordinary efforts of our UniCRE colleagues, the distribution of the disinfecting fluid started for all Unipetrol Group employees and their closest persons. There is one litre of the fluid available to each employee.

Unipetrol also remembers those who need it most. If possible, the disinfecting fluid is furthermore distributed to the self-governing units and hospitals in the vicinity of the production plants. Spolana Neratovice supported disinfectant production, as well. It donated a supply of sodium hypochlorite solution to the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic. This delivery will allow them to make up to 50 tonnes of disinfection. Not even Paramo had lagged when it secured 3,000 one-litre bottles for the distribution of disinfection for the Pardubice Region.

The Unipetrol Group companies are currently engaged in other areas, too. Last week, Benzina provided refreshments to the drivers queuing at the Czech-Polish border and this week, it donated additional bottled water, Verva energy drinks and snacks to the town of Náchod. The town distributed this assistance to health workers, police officers, firefighters, soldiers, customs officers, and volunteers.
