“As part of the strategy we have adopted, we committed ourselves to cutting emissions by one fifth until 2030 and becoming emissions-neutral by 2050. The ORLEN Unipetrol Group plans to invest CZK 35 billion in modernisation, higher efficiency, digitisation, and sustainable projects by 2030. The main tasks include the planned construction of a gas-and-steam cogeneration heating plant and a photovoltaic installation in Záluží u Litvínova, development of alternative fuels offered at Benzina ORLEN filling stations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, plastic recycling, manufacture of advanced biofuels, hydrogen infrastructure development for passenger car transport, and road freight and rail transport of goods. In addition, ORLEN Unipetrol plans to equip 54 stations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia with hydrogen refilling pumps and build three hydrogen distribution centres.

As part of its strategic objectives, Pražská plynárenská wants to offer its customers at least 75% of green products in the future. Also, it intends to strongly support the use of state-of-the-art technology solutions, flexibly react to the challenges posed by the new energy sector and provide expert consulting related to the implementation of innovative technologies and energy savings. Last but not least, Pražská plynárenská wants to ensure carbon-neutral operations as part of its group.
