The refining and petrochemical group ORLEN Unipetrol has won the regional round of the Pluxee Employer of the Year 2024 competition, receiving a gold medal. It is another year when the Group ranked first as the best employer in the Ústí Region.
ORLEN Unipetrol has again confirmed that its dedication to more than 2,600 employees in the Ústí Region has been its long-term priority. The 22nd year of the independent evaluation, Employer of the Year, compared companies in the Czech Republic regarding their approach to human resources to recognise companies with an outstanding approach to employees. The announcement of the best businesses in individual years will be followed by a nationwide finale. Besides dedication to employees, ORLEN Unipetrol’s HR strategy was acknowledged for its intensive commitment to supporting the Czech school system and education.

The Employers’ Club has ranked ORLEN Unipetrol first among employers in the Ústí Region based on a comprehensive evaluation of the entrants. The independent assessment is based on an international methodology of PricewaterhouseCoopers Czech Republic, an expert guarantor of the competition preparing supporting documentation. The competition, held since 2003, aims to present businesses with an outstanding approach to their employees publicly.
ORLEN Unipetrol is a significant employer in the Ústí Region both in terms of the number of jobs and by promoting modern trends in the approach to employees over the long term. The traditional HR tools are supplemented by supporting the employees’ engagement in sports, social and community activities. The Group’s HR strategy also focuses on supporting Czech schools and students. Together with the ORLEN Unipetrol Foundation, they seek to increase schoolchildren’s interest in chemistry. They acknowledge hundreds of talented students each year through scholarships and grant programmes. They also help teachers and dozens of secondary schools and universities in the Czech Republic with lessons.
