A regular emergency drill will take place at the production site in Kralupy and Vltavou on Tuesday, 18 June. Although the emergency drill is not expected to extend beyond the boundaries of the company's premises, it will be possible to record sound and visual effects in the morning in the immediate vicinity of the premises. The ORLEN Unipetrol Group holds regular emergency drills in its production plants to verify the preparedness of its rescue teams and employees on site.
“The practical exercise allows us to effectively check our preparedness for emergencies. These drills always have a special topic when we test the reaction of all rescue teams needed in various types of responses. But we are also testing the readiness of our employees. Once completed, we analyse and evaluate the course of the exercise in a team of experts. If necessary, we adopt measures to make responses as effective as possible,” says Maciej Romanów, a member of the Board of Directors of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group.
As the only local oil processing company, the ORLEN Unipetrol Group is also part of the national critical infrastructure. Tactical emergency drills are held regularly at both refineries, in Kralupy nad Vltavou and Litvínov. These exercises verify the efficiency of the corporate emergency plan, the current operational and safety documentation, and the cooperation of all rescue units addressing an emergency.
Emergency drills usually focus on specific situations. The exercises also check the collaboration of individual units dealing with emergencies and the technical readiness of the equipment used in the full response. The exercises also verify the system of communication with external entities and rescue units.
