Prague, 20 March 2018 – Employees of the Unipetrol Refinery and Petrochemical Group raised funds for the Early Care Centre in Pardubice for the fourth time during their annual Fulfilled Wishes charity fundraiser, which supports non-profit activities in regions in which Unipetrol is active. We managed to collect over CZK 92,000. This year’s campaign by Unipetrol employees in five locations raised a total of CZK 367,000.
A symbolic cheque in the value of 92,158 Crowns was accepted on behalf of the Early Care Centre by Director Mrs Blanka Brandová: “We appreciate this support and thank you for it. We will use the donated money like we did last year, to purchase a new car, which will provide us with easier transport to families with whom we collaborate throughout the Pardubice Region. Most of our work consists of services provided in the field.“
“I am very pleased that we have supported the Early Care Centre for the fourth time in relation to our traditional Fulfilled Dreams fundraiser. Direct and specific assistance at the site of activity works best,“ Marek Gladysz, Managing Director of the Paramo Company, which is a member of the Unipetrol Group, explains, and he adds: “We also collaborate within the terms of volunteer days, during which our employees help at the centre every year by helping to make didactic equipment for children for instance.“
Employees of the Unipetrol Group have held the Fulfilled Wishes fundraiser every year since 2011. This year the campaign raised 367 thousand Crowns. The raised funds were divided among five non-profit organisations. “We regularly support children’s homes in Most and Kralupy and also the Early Care Centre in Pardubice. Last year we expanded our support to include the Kociánka Centre in Brno and this year we contacted the Mělník Centre, which falls under Fokus Praha. This is how we help in the areas surrounding our production plants,“ Jiří Hájek, Director of Corporate Communication for the Unipetrol Group explains. The total proceeds from all seven years of the charitable fundraiser have reached CZK 1,598,000.
The purpose of the Early Care Centre in Pardubice is to support development of children with physical, mental and combined handicaps from birth up to seven years of age and also provide support to their families. The centre’s services are now used by over 150 families from all over the Pardubice Region per year. The centre specifically assures care, educational and activation activities for children. It provides their families with assistance in applying their rights and interests, arranging social therapeutic activities and contact with the social environment.
