Stocking the river with fish is being financially subsidised by Unipetrol
Litvínov, 26 April 2011 - Employees of the Czech Angling Association (CAA) released approximately 3,200 fish, mostly ides, into the River Bílina on Friday, 22 April. The fish were released at three locations – downriver of the confluence with the Srpina in České Zlatníce, in Hostomice and in Stadice. This is the second such activity funded by Unipetrol as part of its cooperation with the Czech Angling Association which began in 2010.
“We released approximately 3,000 of ide fish into the Bílina, 2,000 of which were yearlings and about 1,000 head of fish of higher ages. We also released 200 carp, each weighing about 1 kilogram,” saidVáclav Jelínek, technician from the North Bohemian District Association of the CAA.
“Over the course of the years 2010 to 2012 we are donating a total of 250,000 crowns for stocking the river with fish and we plan to continue this activity in the long term as well. It is one of the ways in which we are trying to contribute to the region to improve the environment,” said Pavel Sláma, Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Department Director.
