It is the intention of UNIPETROL, a.s., to diversify oil supply to Czech refineries and also to prevent the risk of transformation of their technology into the processing of oil from only one direction or one source. This has been emphasised by UNIPETROL, a.s., many times including in official statements addressed to representatives of the Government of the Czech Republic in March and in October, 2006.

At the Extraordinary General Meeting of ČESKÁ RAFINÉRSKÁ, a.s.,  Mr. Marek Mroczkowski, on behalf of UNIPETROL, a.s., voted to support  the request of the Board of Management of ČESKÁ RAFINÉRSKÁ, a.s., regarding  conduct of analyses of feasibility of the processing of high sulphur content crude oil in the Kralupy refinery. This and especially the manner of the reporting on the course of the meeting and on reasons for the decision could cause misinterpretation of the intentions of UNIPETROL, a.s., and thus create uncertainty of the Czech Government.

At the same time, referring to the above stated facts, the Supervisory Board of UNIPETROL, a.s., recommended to the UNIPETROL Board of Management to reinforce monitoring of the proceedings of the Board of Management of ČESKÁ RAFINÉRSKÁ, a. s., concerning the above mentioned area.
