We clearly declare that ORLEN Group's priority is to ensure the continuity of operation of all our refineries and the energy security of the Central and Eastern European region, in particular the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
The crude oil reserves and fuel production of ORLEN Unipetrol Group are at a sufficient level to cover the current demand in the Czech Republic. Crude oil deliveries to the ORLEN Unipetrol Group refineries in the Czech Republic are carried out on an ongoing basis and according to a long-term plan. In addition, we carry out additional spot purchases from outside Europe. The logistical process of fuel deliveries is also ensured. There is therefore no reason to doubt the supply of fuel to the Czech market.
In recent years, ORLEN Group has successfully diversified crude oil deliveries and tested the usability of various types of crude oil in its refineries. It is now closely monitoring the situation and is prepared for any scenario, including the complete suspension of supplies from the eastern direction, and therefore prepared to ensure the operation of its refineries in the Czech Republic, Poland and Lithuania.
The key element guaranteeing the long-term energy security of the entire Central and Eastern Europe will be the completion of the merger of ORLEN Group with the LOTOS Group. One of the elements of this process is the contract for the supply of up to 20 million tonnes of crude oil per year to the system of the new ORLEN Group, i.e. the refineries in the Czech Republic, Poland and Lithuania. This is a real action that enables further diversification of the directions of supplies of crude oil of stable quality. It would not be possible if the merger did not take place.
