Litvínov, 28 May 2012 – Almost 700 pupils from the Ústí region confirmed their attendance at the Open Day held by UNIPETROL RPA and ČESKÁ RAFINÉRSKÁ on 7 June. An interesting program was prepared for visiting children as well as adults, including sightseeing bus rides of Chempark. Those interested in participating at the Open Day can register at www.unipetrol.cz.

Visitors of the Open Day will experience a range of interesting events and competitions for prizes. Aside from the well-known chemistry popularizer Michael Londesborough, the public will also meet the junior team of HC VERVA Litvínov, firefighters with a high-lift platform, a mobile SGS station for fuel checks, Air Products company and a PETROTRANS tank truck. Teachers and students will also learn of new tools for teaching chemistry with the interactive program "The path to the secrets of oil" and the web pages of www.zazijchemii.cz. 

"The planned presentations of the education program "The path to the secrets of oil" (Cesta za tajemstvím ropy) has been fully booked by schools in the first two weeks when the registration opened," said Mikuláš Duda, the manager of Unipetrol's press department. „We see a great amount of interest in the event among the elementary and high schools of the Ústí region. We had to increase the capacity of planned sightseeing rides and add another bus to meet demand," added Mikuláš Duda.

Bus sightseeing trips through the site will include professional commentary by employees of the Unipetrol group. Due to the limited capacity of buses, interested persons must register in advance by filling in the form available in the Open Day section of www.unipetrol.cz.
