Given the fact that MEI is a shareholder of Paramo, and not of Unipetrol, we consider its position to be totally irrelevant.Prague, 23 November 2006 – A management model similar to the one that Unipetrol is introducing is standard in many companies in the Czech Republic and abroad, including e.g. OMV and ČEZ.
The restructuring is part of long-term strategy aimed at making Unipetrol an efficient, dynamic and modern business, and thus increasing its value. The change of the management model will improve transparency, competitiveness and financial performance of the entire group. Many analysts assess the transformation of Unipetrol positively (see the attachment to this release).
The new model will contribute to simplifying the management. This is also one of the reasons for changing the legal form of the subsidiaries – but only of those that Unipetrol owns 100% of. Unipetrol holds a 79.5% interest in Paramo, so this company will not change its legal form.
The entire transformation strategy was thoroughly presented at Unipetrol’s press conference on 9 November 2006 and all relevant documents were subsequently posted on the company’s website.
