New members of statutory bodies of Unipetrol

Mr. Rafał Sekuła became a new member of Unipetrol’s Supervisory Board. 
Mr. Piotr Chełmiński and Mr. Artur Paździor joined Unipetrol’s Board of Directors. 
Mr. Risto Saranto became a new Executive of Unipetrol RPA.

Prague, 30 October 2009  The Supervisory Board of Unipetrol (SB) approved at today’s meeting changes in statutory bodies of the company.

Mr. Jacek Krawiec, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Unipetrol a.s. says – By today’s decisions we strengthened the Management Boards of Unipetrol a.s. and Unipetrol RPA with the people with great managerial and industrial expertise. Both boards represent from now a unique combination of professional expertise, youth, maturity and common enthusiasm to navigate the Unipertol Group through the stormy business environment. I am convinced this will help to reinforce the competitive position of Unipetrol on the European market. From the formal perspective this decision fulfills statutory requirements of the company. 

The Supervisory Board accepted the resignation of Mr. Arkadiusz Kawecki and appointed Mr Rafał Sekuła, the HR Executive Director in PKN Orlen as a new member. 

Mr. Rafał Sekuła is responsible for the HR in the PKN Orlen Group. He graduated from the Law Faculty of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow. He has also a postgraduate degree in Economics and Managment at the University of Economics in Cracow and in 2006 finished an MBA programme at the Polish Open University/The Oxford Brookes University in Warsaw. Before joining PKN Orlen, he has worked for nine years for the largest telecom group in Poland – Telekomunikacja Polska SA (see more on http://www.unipetrol.cz/en/about_us/). 

The Supervisory Board also appointed two new members of the Board of Unipetrol. Mr. Piotr Chełmiński and Mr. Artur Paździor. In addition, the Supervisory Board renewed the contract with Mr. Martin Durčák, whose term has expired. 

Mr. Piotr Chełmiński gained his managerial experience in many companies, also listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Before joining Unipetrol he was a member of Board of Directors in Gamet Holdings S.A. in Luxemburg as well as VicePresident of Gamet S.A. Torun. He was also a member of the Board of Directors and a member of the Supervisory Board in Kamis Przyprawy, S.A.. Mr. Chełmiński also acted as East European Director of Eckes Granini GmbH & Co KG and President of its subsidiary Aronia S.A. He graduated from the University of Agriculture in Warsaw and received a postgraduate degree in Management from the University of Management and Marketing in Warsaw partner / Denver University USA (See more on http://www.unipetrol.cz/en/about_us/). 

Mr. Artur Paździor has recently worked for a private equity fund as CEO of one of its portfolio companies. He has experience in chemical industry as a member of Board of Directors and Sales and Marketing Director in Wavin Poland, European producer of PVC, Polyethylene and Polypropylene applications. He graduated from the Poznan Polytechnics University, the department of mechanical engineering, and specialized in the manufacturing of plastics and rubber. He has an MBA from the Nottingham Trent University/The Wielkopolska Business School (See more on http://www.unipetrol.cz/en/about_us/). 

Mr Risto Saranto became a new Executive of Unipetrol RPA. He has 30-year experience gained at various executive positions in international refining and petrochemical companies including the position of the Production Director and Plant Manager. He has been responsible for Petrochemicals production units (ethylene-, propylene-, butadiene-, benzene-, cumene- and phenol-plants) for Neste Oil and Borealis Polymers Oy. Furthermore, he was responsible for wide expansion and investment projects up to EUR 100 M and also major fixed cost saving programs.
