The Unipetrol Group has a new Chief Merger Officer. He is Petr Sosík, who joined the company in the first half of 2006, working initially as special project manager, later as head for controlling and, since November 2006, the Unipetrol Group’s CFO.Prague, 3 July 2007 – Petr Sosík has extensive experience in the financial management and restructuring of companies. He has come to Unipetrol from Aral ČR, a part of the British Petroleum Group (BP). He spent five years at Aral, and was responsible for planning and strategic development of the company. In 2004 contributed to a project for the optimisation of the European downstream for BP. Between 1998 and 2001 worked for the international company Coty ČR as a financial coordinator for Slovakia. He acquired his initial professional experience in state administration.
“It is a great challenge for me to head the project for the Group’s transformation, because it is one of the most important tasks that the Unipetrol Group needs to manage well to become a flexible, transparent and modern company,” says Petr Sosík.
Petr Sosík studied economics, international trade, and European law at the Institute of Technology and Regional Technical College in Ireland, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. He is currently taking an MBA course at the Knightsbridge University, UK. He is married, with one daughter.
