Unipetrol continues the optimization process

26-11-2015

Prague, 26 November 2015 – The Unipetrol Group proceeds with another change in its structure.  A planned merger between the Polymer Institute Brno and Unipetrol RPA aims at further improvement of business operational excellence and strengthening the company’s position on the Czech market.

The Polymer Institute Brno is not only a leading research and development centre. Every year, it has also managed to increase its own production of additive concentrates. Closer ties with Unipetrol RPA will contribute to the further development of the company’s production program,” says Marek Świtajewski, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Unipetrol.

In 2014, the Polymer Institute Brno produced 1121 tonnes of concentrates, which is the most in the company’s history. In the current year, the company has managed to increase production even further by 8%. Given the full use of capacities, the Polymer Institute Brno is considering investing into a new production line, which should expand the product portfolio in the area of concentrates, UV stabilisers and colours. Other important items in the company’s range include fire retarders and thermos-stabilisation concentrates.

The merger between the Polymer Institute Brno and Unipetrol RPA will follow up on the previously announced merger of Benzina. The Polymer Institute Brno will operate as a branch factory, meaning it will be an integrated part of Unipetrol RPA – the production leader on the Czech market of refinery, petrochemical and agrochemical products.
