​Three companies of the Unipetrol Group were given a certificate of responsible approach to chemical business that is issued by the Association of Chemical Industry of the Czech Republic. The companies such as Unipetrol, Unipetrol Doprava and Unipetrol RPA can use the Responsible Care logo until October 2017. The company Unipetrol Services was given this certificate for the first time this year and has been incorporated into the list of partners within the Responsible Care Partnership Program. 

„Our priority is to develop, produce and transport products in the course of minimizing the negative impacts on human health and the environment. During last five years, we invested into the environmental protection the amount of one billion CZK,“ stated the CEO and Chairman of Board of Directors Marek Świtajewski.

Unipetrol won the certificate for the first time in 2000 and this is its sixth confirmation. Unipetrol RPA was given the certificate for the first time in 1996 and confirmed it already eight times, the certificate for Unipetrol Doprava was issued in 2011 and the company won the second confirmation this year. Under the awarded members of the Unipetrol Group who have been awarded by the Association of Chemical Industry of the Czech Republic came also the company Unipetrol Services.

The program Responsible Care
The Responsible Care program is a voluntary global initiative of the chemical industry focused on supporting its sustainable development by increasing the safety of operated equipment, the transport of products and improving the safety and protection of people and the environment. The program represents a long-term strategy coordinated by the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA), in Europe by the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC).

The national version of the Responsible Care program is called "Responsible Business in the Chemical Industry". The Czech version of the program was officially launched in October 1994 by the Minister of Industry and Trade and by the President of the Association of Chemical Industry of the Czech Republic; since 2006, the program has been fulfilling conditions of the Responsible Care Global Chart.
