Prague, May 4, 2017 – Benzina, the Czech Republic’s largest filling stations network with a total of 380 stations, launches a long-term CSR program called Benzina helps. As part of this program, in cooperation with the Federation of Children’s Homes in the Czech Republic, the company prepared two projects to support children from children’s homes all over the country. The first one is a creative competition called Children’s Home of the Future which will be held in May and June. The reward for the winning home is a September trip full of adrenaline for the children and also a reconstruction of the home itself. The judging panel will consist, among others, of car racers Roman Kresta and Jan Černý, the Czech Republic’s Miss 2005 Lucie Šlégr Králová and the Olympic winner Jiří Šlégr. Starting from May 1, people can place both new and used sports equipment for children in special boxes located at Benzina filling stations.
„We’re changing Benzina’s face. We are gradually dressing the traditional and established brand in a modern coat in all areas. We innovated the fuels. We are expanding our offer of food and additional services. We are also working on unifying the look of all our filling stations,“ says Marek Zouvala, Head of Benzina Registered Branch, Unipetrol Group, adding: „And since we are also aware of our social responsibility, we prepared the Benzina Helps project aiming at children in children’s homes all over the country.“
„Benzina is, like us, active all around the Czech Republic. We are glad that thanks to their support, we have been able to prepare a project that addresses children’s homes throughout the country,“ says Jana Koubová, Chairwoman of the Federation of Children’s Homes in the Czech Republic.
Children’s Home of the FutureIn the creative competition which will be held in May and June, Benzina is going to invite children from children’s homes across the country to picture a children’s home of the future as they see it. Their works in drawing or any audiovisual form will be placed on a special website at
www.benzinapomaha.cz for public to evaluate them in the first round. The jury will then pick three best sketches. Their authors will receive attractive prizes. The first prize is a sports trip with Benzina for the children from the winning children’s home in September this year. Upon their return, there will be a surprise for the children in the form of completed reconstruction of one part of the home carried out by Benzina’s employees on a volunteer day. Benzina will reward the second placed ones with sports equipment. Third ones will receive gift vouchers for sport experiences and equipment.
Second chance for sports equipmentThe first SportBox for collecting sports equipment for children from children’s homes will be located at the filling station Argentinská, Prague 7 – Holešovice. Depending on the outcome the pilot project, we will then install SportBoxes at other filling stations too. „We asked children in children’s homes what they needed most. It turned out to be the sports equipment. And so it occurred to us to place our collection boxes at our filling stations where people can put the equipment. We will collect them in regular intervals and, in cooperation with the Federation of Children Homes, hand over the collected equipment to children homes all over the country,“ explains Agnieszka Bobrukiewicz, Head of the Marketing Department, Benzina.
