​The company Unipetrol wants to object against the misleading information that had been published in the article “The Czech refineries endangered” by the magazine Svet motoru on the 11th of August 2014.“. The article contains the statement that deceives the public opinion and falsely depicts the facts and thus prejudices a good cause of the company ČESKÁ RAFINÉRSKÁ, a.s. The damage to the good name and reputation of our company is even more extensive  due to the fact that the false information were  published in the most-read magazine for motorists in the Czech Republic. 

The article falsely stated, among other things that the current workload of the Czech refineries is decreasing sometimes even by 50%. In fact, during 2013-2014 the utilization of refining capacity was between 74% - 81%. (2013 74%, the first half year of 2014 81%). It is also not true that with regard to the alleged very low utilization of refining capacities of the domestic refineries they are in danger of shutdown.

With regard to the above-mentioned facts, Unipetrol considers the published text as a journalistic unreliability of the magazine Svět motorů editorial office resulting in damage of the reputation of the companies Unipetrol and Česká rafinérská. The company Unipetrol will undertake necessary steps to demand from the magazine to solve  the situation by rectifying  their statement.
