Litvinov, 21 December, 2011 - Unipetrol group passed via the Usti Region the hospital in Žatec a donation amounting to CZK 500,000. Thus the hospital could buy new equipment, specifically an oscillation type drill and the second readout CT station. This year Unipetrol has donated Usti Region and its municipalities in total CZK 3.5M for development projects.
„We are one of the major employers in the North Bohemia region and we feel responsible for its development. We are happy to see how our donations help to improve the quality of the local residents´ lives, in the case of Zatec hospital particularly the level of health care," said Mr Piotr Chełminski, Unipetrol´s CEO and Chairman of the Board.
“We appreciate any support, not just the financial one. I think that we as a hospital can use it very well for the benefit of our patients. Certainly, there is no need to remind that Unipetrol´s employees comprise a considerable number of residents in the Hospital Zatec o.p.s. fallout area," said Čestmír Novák, Director of Zatec Hospital.
For the donated money, the hospital has purchased the drill with oscillation for CZK 200,000 that is used by surgeons when operating for fractures. Moreover, the second readout station for the16-line CT, known as “tunnel” between the people, has been acquired, which will improve work to laboratory technicians and doctors who use the device.
Unipetrol helps in the Usti Region
This year Unipetrol has donated municipalities of the Usti Region in total of CZK 1.550M. The funds provided by Unipetrol group have been used, for example, for equipping a playground in the garden of Karel Havlicek Borovsky Nursery School in Most, amounting to CZK 100,000. Construction of parking lots and retaining wall reconstruction in Hora Svaté Kateřiny will require up to CZK 65,000.
Unipetrol also cooperates closely with the Usti region to which has donated CZK 2M for charitable projects this year. A significant amount of CZK 300,000 has been spent on chemistry lab equipment in the Primary School with extensive language teaching and Nursery School in Litvinov.
