Prague, 14 March 2017: The Unipetrol Supervisory Board appointed Mr. Tomáš Herink (41) as a Member of the Unipetrol Board of Directors with effect as of 14 March 2017. Tomáš Herink graduated from University of Chemical Technology in Prague (UCT). He joined Unipetrol immediately after his graduation and has been working in the Company for nearly 20 years. Since 2014 he has been holding the post of Director of Research and Development. The Unipetrol Board of Directors has seven members now.

Tomáš Herink (41) began his career in Unipetrol almost twenty years ago as a 3rd year student of the UCT as a Gaudeamus Foundation scholarship holder. After graduation, he started working in the company as a research and development specialist and began to develop his own projects. In 2011 he started working as Director of Technology and Efficiency Department and since 2014 he has been holding the post of Director of Research and Development. In the long term he also focuses on cooperation with the UCT as well as education of prospective graduates.
During his research and development activities, Tomáš Herink published more than 60 professional publications as an author or co-author. He is also a co-author of two patents and authored or co-authored more than 50 lectures at national and international conferences. In 2002, he received his PhD degree and in 2010 became an associate professor (docent). Tomáš Herink is married and has two children.
