Prague, 13 March 2008 – Unipetrol’s support for the National Theatre is mainly geared towards the development of artistic work. Without income from its partners, the National Theatre would barely be able to produce all its premières and project.
“Unipetrol highly appreciates its partnership with the National Theatre. We are pleased that our co-operation has proved its worth and that it will continue. We appreciate this fact very much, and hope that Unipetrol will not let the National Theatre down this year, either,” said François Vleugels, Unipetrol Chairman and CEO of Unipetrol.
It is also thanks to Unipetrol that a total of 16 premières could take place at the National Theatre last year; there were eight drama premières, and opera and ballet gave six and two premières, respectively.
With support provided by the partners, a gala concert that opened the National Theatre’s 125th season, an Easter Concert, a Mozart Concert, and four Advent Concerts were all given at the National Theatre last year; several domestic and foreign visiting ensembles were also presented there last year.
