UNIPETROL is the Main Partner of the 43rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival also this year.Prague, 15 April 2008 – “I personally appreciate the fact that our company is the Main Partner of the most important international film festival in Central and Eastern Europe also this year,” says François Vleugels, Unipetrol CEO.
The tradition of Unipetrol’s support for the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is long. The co-operation started in 2000 and continued successfully also in 2001, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
Being one of the largest Czech companies, Unipetrol holds the Czech Republic’s cultural heritage in high esteem. The company has therefore been helping to promote culture in the Czech Republic for a long time. In addition to the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Unipetrol also supports the National Theatre and regional theatres in the North Bohemian Region.
Unipetrol also focuses on science and sports. This is borne out by Unipetrol’s partnership with VŠCHT Praha [Institute of Chemical Technology Prague] and the Česká hlava [Czech Head] project. In sports, Unipetrol is financially involved in support for the Czech Olympic Team. The most important sport project is its historical support for HC Litvínov, an ice hockey club, which has qualified below the mark Benzina for play off of the ice hockey extra league this year.
