Prague, 25 March 2010 – The respective bodies of companies of the Unipetrol Group approved the sale of its stake in the waste management company Celio. The stake, currently owned by Unipetrol a.s. (Unipetrol) and its subsidiary Unipetrol RPA, s.r.o., will be transferred to Ticatanor s.r.o. and to 
B.E.Fin S.A. The transfer will be finished after the approval from Celio’s General Meeting scheduled for April 2010.  

Unipetrol currently owns 10.53% of Celio, Unipetrol RPA 40.53%. A Belgian state-owned company 
B.E. Fin, which focuses on environmental activities, holds 48.94%. 

Under the agreement, the companies of the Unipetrol Group sell their 50% stake in Celio to Ticatanor. The remaining 1.06% of Celio’s shares will be sold to B.E. Fin. After the transaction is completed, Celio will be equally owned by B.E. Fin and Ticatanor. 

“Unipetrol is focusing on its core businesses and the sale of Celio is in line with this strategy, as the waste management is not one of them,” said Piotr Chełmiński, Chairman of BoD and CEO of Unipetrol. 

Celio a.s. is a waste management company operating a landfill for hazardous and other waste in the Růžodol area near Litvinov. In 2009, Celio a.s. generated revenue from own services of CZK 97.3 million. It has 34 employees.
