Prague, 19th July 2010 - The Unipetrol Group and the National Theatre have signed a cooperation agreement for 2010, although the partnership has a form different than in previous years. The current agreement is already the fifth in a row.

The cooperation between the two organizations began in 2006, as part of the “Year of Mozart” project. Unipetrol was a partner of the theatre for the last three years.

“We realize the importance of unique cultural heritage, which the National Theatre represents for the Czech society. So even in times of very difficult business environment, we do not want to interrupt our cooperation,” the CEO of Unipetrol Piotr Chelminski says.

The National Theatre gave 872 performances last season, 19 of which were premieres. By the end of this year the theatre plans more than 400 performances.

“I appreciate that our cooperation continues and that Unipetrol keeps providing support to such an important institution as the National Theater," said Ondřej Černý, Director of the National Theatre.
