Litvínov 12 September 2011 - In relation to the turnaround shutdown currently ongoing in Chempark Záluží the Unipetrol Group introduced – in cooperation with the police and security company ORLEN Ochrona – new measures for increasing security and people and assets protection.
In cooperation with the Litvínov City Police (MěP) mobile cameras were installed in the AB and Petrochemie administrative buildings for the shutdown period. The camera system, the purpose of which is to prevent theft or damage to vehicles in front of the industrial zone, will be operated from the MěP Litvínov operational HQ.
As part of closer cooperation with the Czech Police, the patrols in front of the Chempark Záluží industrial zone will also be intensified. Their primary task will be to ensure fluid traffic and to enforce the legal regulations concerning the allowed speed, prohibition to phone while driving or alcohol consumption.
“From the security point of view the turnaround shutdown means definite increase of theft risk and property damage due to significant increase of the number of people and machines in the zone and the surrounding area,“ says the head of MěP Litvínov, Bc. Martin Klika
"The Czech Republic Police evaluated the work related to the shutdown as an increased risk in the area of property-related criminality. Therefore the officers now focus more on the zone and its surroundings. The goal is to prevent criminal activity. Apart from monitoring the buildings and parking spaces in the area the police also performs random checks of people moving in the area," said the deputy head of the Most Police command, kpt. Ing. Jindřich Bergmann.
The planned turnaround shutdown in Chempark Záluží involves shutting down all the installations of Unipetrol RPA and Česká rafinérská. The shutdown occurred in late August/early September and the gradual return to normal operation is planned during the first three weeks of October. This is a regular periodic shutdown, performed for the last time in 2007. The main reason is the necessity of performing regular maintenance on all installations. At the same time several investment projects will be executed during the shutdown, with total budget exceeding CZK 290 million. A special part of the Unipetrol RPA Action Plan for Improvement of Safety and Health Protection at Work is devoted to this year’s shutdown. Its important part is also safety training for all employees and external contractors who will participate in the shutdown
