New equipment for visitors to the maternity centre

Litvínov, 14 November 2011 – The donation from Unipetrol worth 35,000 crowns will be used by the Most Leisure Centre to purchase equipment for the gym, which also used for sports activities by the maternity centre section. Visitors to the centre can look forward to new gym mats, balance beams, benches and a vault. The maternity centre is designated primarily for parents with children up to six years of age.

“Within the framework of support, Unipetrol focusses on social, educational and ecological projects. This area includes providing assistance to facilities that take care of children and youths. Apart from cooperation with the Most Leisure Centre, we also donated CZK 100,000 this year to the reconstruction of the children’s playground in the garden of the Karel Havlíček Borovský Preschool,” said Piotr Chełmiński, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Unipetrol.

“We are trying to create a positive attitude towards sports and athletics among children from a very young age. The funds received from Unipetrol will substantially help us increase the activity of sports clubs and activities organised for children from three years of age,” said Eva Martinovská, Director of the Most Leisure Centre.

Since 2011, the Ministry of Education, Health and Physical Education has excluded the age group of children up to six years old from the financing of extracurricular education. By supporting the maternity centre within the Most Leisure Centre, Unipetrol wants to contribute to the development of sports clubs, which are crucial in terms of the physical and mental development of the smallest children. The Most maternity centre is visited by more than 150 children up to the age of six years every week.
