Over the course of the last week in May, Unipetrol and Česká rafinérská held another round of their volunteer days. 44 employees spent one day in non-profit organisations, working off 330 hours for them. This specifically concerned Most Regional Charity, the Hora Svaté Kateřiny Children's Home, Endowment Fund for Regeneration of the Ore Mountains and the Sue Ryder Care Home (Prague). "We are happy that more and more employees from the Unipetrol Group are taking part in the volunteer days. The positive experience of the volunteers who took part in the event in the past certainly contributes towards this, as does the feedback from the non-profit organisations themselves. They really welcome this form of help," said Mikuláš Duda, manager of the press department in Unipetrol.
"Volunteer activities have a tradition in our company, already being held for the seventh time this year," said Simona Caidlerová, PR coordinator from Česká rafinérská, adding: "Our work was slightly complicated by the cold and rainy weather this year, so we appreciate the active approach taken by all of our colleagues all the more for this."
Employees were able to choose themselves which non-profit organisations they wanted to help. In terms of the Endowment Fund for Regeneration of theOreMountainsemployees helped with treatment of trees in the Ore Mountains Arboretum, cleaning up in the geological park and varnishing and repairing wooden features in the children's playground. In the Hora Svaté Kateřiny Children's Home and school canteen, employees worked in the garden and painted the fence. Most Regional Charity welcomed help with painting of the shelter in Osek.
Outside of the Litvínov and Most region, employees of Unipetrol inPraguealso took part in the volunteer days.
