In connection with the emergency situation in the oil refinery in Kralupy nad Vltavou in May, Unipetrol RPA has rented an empty tank for 80 thousand tons of oil in Nelahozeves from the Administration of State Material Reserves (Správa státních hmotných rezerv).
„Immediately after the emergency situation in the Kralupy refinery in the middle of May, oil supplies were cut off. We will use the rented tank for short-term storage of oil that was on the way to the Czech Republic,“ said Marek Świtajewski, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Unipetrol. “Presently, the terms of the contract guarantee storage of up to 80 thousand tons of oil,” Marek Świtajewski added.
“We are closely monitoring the situation in the refinery in Kralupy nad Vltavou. Since we currently have a free capacity in the oil tanks, which we have rented from Mero in the long term, we have offered it to Unipetrol,“ particularised Pavel Švagr, Chairman of the Administration of State Material Reserves.
The contractual rent is agreed until 31 August 2016 with a possibility of prolongation by another eight months. Each month Unipetrol RPA pays more than four million CZK for use of the storage space.
