Volunteers act: ORLEN Unipetrol Group employees helped eight organisations in May and worked 1,022 hours

This year, 146 volunteers – employees of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group – have joined the traditional Volunteer Days organised for the non-profit organisations located near ORLEN Unipetrol production plants. They helped in eight organisations and were involved in activities related to social services, building maintenance and environment-related services. The initiative aims to contribute to improving and developing local communities actively. ORLEN Unipetrol employees worked 1,022 hours on nine volunteer projects. They could choose from helping eight organisations in the locations where the Group is present. The highest number of volunteers was in Litvínov, collecting rubbish around Chempark. They managed to collect 2.6 tonnes of waste.

“I want to express my gratitude and admiration to our employees who joined this year’s Volunteer Days. Their excitement, interest, and willingness to help prove that they are concerned not only with their achievements but also with the welfare of others. Their volunteer work will bring joy to the life of those who need help and show that even small deeds may be of great significance,” Katarzyna Woś, Vice-Chair of the board of directors of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group, summed up this year’s Volunteer Days.

This initiative also creates a link between the company and local communities. It enables employees to share their skills and vigour with those who need it most. ORLEN Unipetrol employees spent their time and verve on volunteer projects in retirement homes, public space cleaning, maintenance of non-profit organisations’ buildings, and other activities that helped improve the quality of life in local communities. ORLEN Unipetrol Volunteer Days are an opportunity for employees to join not only volunteer activities but also a means to boost solidarity and collaboration between employees and local communities.
