Due to a widespread power outage in the Most region, which occurred on Friday 4 July at around 12:00, operations at the Litvínov refinery were interrupted. The electricity supply to the Litvinov refinery was restored and increased to the required level on Friday, 4 July, between 16:00 and 17:00. Immediately thereafter, the inspection of all technological equipment and preparations for the resumption of operations, which will take several days, began.
The power outage necessitated safety measures. The refinery had to resort to controlled combustion of surplus production on safety burners. Steam production was resumed in the morning of Saturday, July 5, which, among other things, is necessary to ensure smokeless combustion. Since then, combustion has been carried out in a standard, smokeless manner. The accompanying smoke effects have thus been suppressed. We are very sorry for these temporary restrictions due to the emergency.
The Kralupy refinery was not affected by the power outage and therefore remained in operation. Fuel supplies for the Czech market are assured.
